Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, Jr. and Manny ‘PacMan’ Pacquiao continues to make their case against each other as to who was the best fighter of this era. Mayweather was recently heard calling Pacquiao “an old man.”
Pacquiao, on the other hand, was heard stating that Mayweather is jealous of his continued professional boxing career. Both fighters were great in the era they shared, but most, if not all will say that Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, Jr. is the best fighter of this era hands down.
Mayweather and Pacquiao share boxing victories over great fighters such as ‘The Golden Boy’ Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, ‘Dinamita’ Juan Manuel Marquez, ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley, and Miguel ‘Junito’ Cotto. Mayweather has beaten 23 world champions in his stellar professional boxing career.
Pacquiao has beaten 22 world champions in his legendary professional boxing career. Pacquiao scored a victory over his 22nd world champion that was Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman back on July 20, 2019. Because Pacquiao will continue his professional boxing career and has no plans of slowing down, he has the chance to do the unthinkable.
Mayweather’s boxing record of defeating 23 different world champions seemed unreachable. Pacquiao, however, is one big fight away from tying Mayweather’s record for defeating the most boxing world champions.
Furthermore, Pacquiao eventually has a huge chance to break the record for defeating the most boxing world champions. Defeating the most boxing world champions is just one of the many professional boxing records that Mayweather holds, but it would be a huge feat for Pacquiao to obtain the boxing record for defeating the most boxing world champions.
