What’s next for Canelo? Golovkin Part 3 or Andrade?

Last Saturday night, Canelo Alvarez found himself in a cat and mouse game with Daniel Jacobs.  The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada witnessed a chess match on the highest level.  Canelo dominated the early rounds with a good jab, movement, and counterpunching.

Jacobs, on the other hand, started to get his footing later on as he started to land beautiful jabs and combination punching on Canelo.  If you like defense, then this was your perfect fight to watch.  It was great back and forth action throughout the fight, but in the end, this great chess match went to the judges’ scorecards.

Canelo Alvarez was awarded the close unanimous decision victory.  Canelo is now the unified WBC, WBA, IBF, and IBO middleweight champion of the world.

Conclusion

Daniel Jacobs gave Canelo a good fight.  If he would have stepped the pace up early in the fight, he may have gotten the decision over Canelo.  Jacobs admitted after the fight that he has outgrown the middleweight division and will be looking to move up to 168.  As for Canelo, he is clearly the biggest star and cash cow in boxing right now.  He can fight anywhere from 160 to 168.

With that said Boxing World, who should Canelo fight next?  Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin for a third time, or unify the middleweight division by fighting WBO middleweight champion Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade?  Feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of this post.

I believe that a fight with a Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade would be a great 👍🏾 fight for Canelo “Saul” Alvarez this fight will continue to show his dominance or it will exposed his weakness as we know styles makes fights, I hope to see them make this fight happen, on the other side Daniel Jacob was scared to fight and if wants to continue to win at that level he must learn to use his jab, not pawing a jab for fear of getting countered that’s one of the reason he lost to Alvarez because Canelo use his jab very effectively and won!
