Dream Fight: Aaron Pryor vs. Shawn Porter!

The Great Aaron ‘The Hawk’ Pryor. Shawn ‘Showtime’ Porter. These two are ultra-aggressive fighters who leave fighters wondering after fighting them if they just came out of a spin cycle. Both of these fighters are also from the state of Ohio. Pryor used his unbelievable aggression to wilt his opponents beneath his feet.

Porter has that same ‘Hawk’ kind of style as he uses his unbelievable aggression to overwhelm his opponents as well. Porter is starting to scale down his aggression a little lately with some jabbing and boxing, nevertheless, he is still unbelievably aggressive.

Pryor’s knockout ratio is way higher than Porter’s. Porter, however, would be the stronger fighter heading into a dream match against Pryor. Pryor spent his professional boxing career at junior welterweight.

Currently, Porter has spent most of his professional boxing career at welterweight. Pryor vs. Porter would have been one heck of a fight! Both fighters would have literally touched gloves and came out swinging!

Aaron Pryor was a super aggressive fighter but had very good boxing skills. Shawn Porter gets hit a lot and has mediocre skills but compensated due to his football like rushes. The one difference I think is that Shawn appears a lot bigger than Pryor did in his prime. Aaron was Junior welterweight and Shawn is a welterweight that appears bigger. Strength may play a part in this fight. Aaron was naturally bigger than Arguello who came up from lightweight and lost some of his punching power. Sugar Ray Leonard and Aaron Pryor were possibly going to meet but it never happened. Who would have won that one? I think Ray Leonard who was bigger than Pryor!

Yeah, Pryor would have definitely been the smaller fighter heading into a match with Porter or Leonard. With that said, both fights, Pryor vs. Porter or Leonard vs. Pryor, I feel would have been made at a catchweight. Man, Pryor was a bad man and I give him a huge shot to beat either Porter or Leonard at a catchweight. Heck, Leonard may have moved up in weight to get away from Pryor back in the day. LOL! Thanks for sharing Mike!
