WBC to crown a new bridgerweight champion in June!

What is Bridgerweight? Well, this is a division created by the WBC back on November 9, 2020. The division is named after a 6-year-old boy, Bridger Walker who saved his 4-year-old sister from a stray dog in 2020. For this great act, the WBC presented Bridger Walker with an honorary WBC championship belt in July of 2020, and in November of 2020, the bridgerweight division was born.

The bridgerweight division is in between the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions and is established for boxers weighing between 200 and 224lbs. On June 18, 2021, Oscar ‘Kaboom’ Rivas and Bryant ‘By By’ Jennings will battle it out, with the winner becoming the first-ever bridgerweight champion.

The Rivas vs. Jennings fight will be a rematch as Jennings will look avenge his 12th round TKO loss to Rivas back on January 18, 2019. The fight venue has yet to be determined.
