Remembering the great ‘Bronx Bull’ Jake Lamotta.

The great ‘Bronx Bull’ Jake Lamotta dies at the age of 95.  The cause of death was complications of pneumonia.  The former middleweight champion was well-known for handing the great ‘Sugar’ Ray Robinson the first loss of his professional boxing career.

Jake Lamotta dies at age 95 - Potshot Boxing

Lamotta will be most well-known, however, for the movie that was made about his life entitled “Raging Bull” played by Actor Robert De Niro.  “Raging Bull” is by far one of the best sports movies in motion picture history.

Lamotta fought 106 fights over a span of 13 years, (1941 – 1954), and left the Boxing World with an impeccable professional boxing record of 83 victories, 19 losses, and 4 draws.  In 1990, Lamotta was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
