Prediction: Keith Thurman vs. Mario Barrios

Tonight, on Fox PPV, Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman will be making his return to the ring after 2 and 1/2 years. Mario ‘El Azteca’ Barrios is coming off an 11th round stoppage loss to the hands of Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. With the loss, Barrios lost his WBA junior welterweight title and suffered the first loss of his professional boxing career.

Now, Barrios is moving up to welterweight to fight the former WBC and WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman. This fight will boil down to how much ring-rust can Thurman knock off to handle Barrios.

Thurman will be the much stronger and more skilled fighter heading into tonight. He just needs to shake off the ring rust and use his boxer-puncher skills to outbox the aggressive Barrios. Speaking of Barrios, he will need to use his aggressiveness to test Thurman’s stamina to see if the 2 and 1/2 years of inactivity can wilt him.

Thurman vs. Barrios should be a good fight. Thurman and Barrios love to bang, so this should be great for the boxing world. So who wins? Well, this fight boils down to Thurman’s inactivity vs. Barrios’s aggression. Also, Thurman’s skill at welterweight vs. Barrios’s will by moving up to welterweight.

In the end, you have to go with Thurman shaking off the ring-rust and getting back into the welterweight championship picture.
