Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Diaz loses IBF junior lightweight title at weigh-in!

Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Diaz was heading into February 13, 2021, IBF junior lightweight title fight looking to build on his junior lightweight championship reign. Diaz, however, lost his IBF junior lightweight title at Friday’s weigh-in. He weighed 3.6 pounds over the 130-pound weight limit.

As a result, he was stripped of his title and fined for missing weight. The Joseph Diaz vs. Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov is still set to take place on Saturday, February 13, 2021, but the only person that has a chance to win the IBF junior lightweight title is Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov.

Diaz would have been making his first defense of the IBF junior lightweight title. Now he has to wait for another opportunity to regain a world title. Diaz vs. Rakhimov is still going to be a good fight. Do not miss Diaz vs. Rakhimov, Saturday, February 13, 2021, on DAZN.
