Tonight, he faced a different beast in WBA (Super) light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol. Bivol controlled the fight from start to finish. He did not give Ramirez a chance to bring that effective aggression.

Ramirez chose to box Bivol instead of bringing aggression which cost him in this fight. Bivol did a great job of staying off the ropes and keeping the action in the middle of the ring, where he dominated. Ramirez had no shot at beating Bivol tonight.

It was all Bivol. Ramirez tried to make one last effort to land a big shot on Bivol. Bivol was too disciplined and overwhelmed Ramirez with excellent boxing and ring generalship. This fight went to the judges’ scorecards. All three judges scored the fight for Dmitry Bivol.

Bivol got the 12th round unanimous decision victory, thus, retaining his WBA (Super) light-heavyweight title. Bivol handed Ramirez the first loss of his professional boxing career.

Conclusion

The word that describes Dmitry Bivol as a boxer is “Discipline.” Bivol continues to show the boxing world that he is one of the best fighters in the sport, and he makes it look easy. He does not get too high or too low in the ring.

He is steady in the ring and keeps chopping down his opponent with excellent boxing. The only fighter that may have a chance at beating Bivol is WBC, WBO, and IBF light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev.  That would be a fight all of the boxing world would want to see, and it would be great for boxing.
