Dirrell and DeGale are ready to rip each other apart!

Here are the weigh-in results for the upcoming vacant IBF super middleweight fight between Andre Dirrell and James Degale.

When Andre “The Resurrected” Dirrell, (24-1-0, 16 KOs) and James “Chunky” DeGale, (20-1-0, 14 KOs) stepped on the scales this afternoon in Boston, they put the boxing world on notice that the fight on Saturday, May 23, 2015, will be a burn burner.

dirrell vs. degale weigh in results - Potshot Boxing

Dirrell looks ready to go and DeGale looks poised to shut up Dirrell on Saturday night.  James DeGale weighed in at a ready 167.2 lbs. and Andre Dirrell weighed in at 167.8 lbs.  This should be a very good fight between 2 one loss fighters who could easily be 2 undefeated fighters given that Dirrell and DeGale lost their 1 fight by controversial decisions. DeGale lost by a controversial majority decision to “Saint” George Groves back in 2011, and Andre Dirrell lost a controversial split-decision to Carl “The Cobra” Froch back in 2009.

Both of these guys are southpaws with great boxing skills with Dirrell being a little more skilled than DeGale in my opinion.  I expect for Dirrell to try and control the distance in this fight while DeGale will put his earmuffs on and try to get inside on Dirrell and land that big left hand that he has in his arsenal.

This is a toss-up fight in my opinion so who wins?  Well, it will depend on whether or not Dirrell can make his sharper boxing skills shine through or not.  However, if DeGale can impose his lean in punching style on Dirrell and force him backwards, I give DeGale a shot at winning this fight.

The 2 fighters are ready for tomorrow night, the weigh-in got intense, and the boxing crowd in Boston are ready to see a Boston Bruins type of fight so cannot wait to see which one of these very good 168 pounders are ready to step up, capture the vacant IBF super middleweight crown, and challenge some of the other top 168 pounders in the sport like Andre “S.O.G.” Ward.
