Canelo Alvarez is the big winner of the Canelo/Angulo showdown!

The Showtime PPV event for March 8, 2014, turned out to be a good night of boxing, but the main event definitely stole the show!!  Canelo Alvarez got back to his winning ways as he indeed went “toe to toe” with “El Perro” Alfredo Angulo as the fight was a give and take all-action fight.

This fight between Canelo and Angulo lived up to all of the hype as these two warriors gave boxing fans all they wanted to see and that was blood and guts.  Angulo backed up Canelo at times and Canelo surely backed up Angulo.  What a great fight!!

In the end, Canelo Alvarez wore down Angulo en route to a 10th round TKO victory.

Leo Santa Cruz defeats Cristian Mijares by 12th round unanimous decision to retain his WBC junior featherweight title.

Sergio “Yeyo” Thompson defeats Ricardo Alvarez by 10th round unanimous decision to capture the vacant WBC International lightweight title.

Jorge “Golden Boy” Linares defeats Nihito Arakawa by 10th round unanimous decision.
