Can anyone beat Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis at 135 or 130?

This past Saturday night, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis put on an outstanding performance in front of the State Farm Arena boxing crowd.  He faced off against ‘El Azteca’ Mario Barrios who was the taller and bigger man heading into the fight.

Barrios reach gave Davis problems early, but Davis figured out Barrios and systemically broke him down.  Davis knocked down Barrios twice in round 8.  The right hook caught Barrios on the first knockdown, and the left hook caught him on the second.

Barrios whether the storm in round 8, but was knocked down again in round 11.  Davis closed the show with a vicious assault to Barrios’ head that caused the referee to step in and stop the fight.  Davis was awarded the 11th round TKO victory.  With the win, he captured the WBA (Regular) junior welterweight title, thus, making him a 3-division world champion.

Conclusion

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is the real deal!  He admitted that he could have waited to move up and take it easy, but Tank just has the heart of a champion, and dares to be great.  Barrios have never been knocked down in his professional boxing career, and Davis ended that feat.

For now, you can bet that Davis will go back down in weight to fight at either lightweight (135) or junior lightweight (130.)  With that said, Boxing World, can anyone beat Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis at 135 or 130?  Leave a comment at the bottom of this post.
