With all of the attention the boxing world give to the junior welterweight (!40), welterweight (147), junior middleweight (154), and middleweight (160) divisions, the lowly super middleweight division (168) sometimes get overlooked by the boxing world. Also, it doesn’t help that one of the best fighters in the sport Andre ‘S.O.G.’ Ward move from the super middleweight division to the light heavyweight division (175).
Even though Andre Ward moved up to 175, there are still some really good super middleweights that are approaching elite status in boxing. James ‘Chunky’ Degale is rising fast in the super middleweight division and is regarded by a lot of boxing experts as the best super middleweight champion in the division.
Badou ‘The Ripper’ Jack is another great super middleweight that is taking the boxing world by storm. The Dirrell Twins, Anthony and Andre are resurrecting their careers at 168, while Felix ‘The Fighter’ Strum, ‘King’ Arthur Abraham, and ‘Saint’ George Groves continue to be boxing mainstays in the 168-pound division.
Least, but certainly not least, there are 2 up and coming young lions that is looking to take over the super middleweight division. Those young lions are undefeated Callum ‘Mundo’ Smith and undefeated Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez.
