Potshot Boxing’s Fight of the Month – February 2014

Here is Potshot Boxing’s fight of the month for February 2014!!

Gennady “GGG” Golovkin vs. Osumanu Adama

Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, (29-0-0, 26 KO’s) proved to the boxing world once again that he is ready to become one of the top fighters in the sport as he put his unbelievable punching power on display in Monte Carlo against a gamed Osumanu Adama, (22-4-0, 16 KO’s.)

From the opening bell Golovkin backed Adama up with that great punching power as he knocked Adama down in the 1st round; after the first knockdown, everything went downhill for Adama.

Golovkin continued to use his jab and hard power punching to overwhelm Adama as Golovkin simply punished Adama to the head and body the entire night.

Golovkin went on to finish off Adama with a knockdown in the 6th round; and then closed the show impressively as the referee stopped the fight after Golovkin knocked down Adama for the 3rd and final time in the fight.  Adama was on shaky legs, thus, was simply saved by the referee from some unnecessary punishment.

Golovkin was awarded the 7th round TKO victory and in the process retained his WBA(Super) and IBO middleweight titles.

Gennady “GGG” Golovkin continues to get better and better in each and every fight so picking this fight that featured Gennady “GGG” Golovkin as Potshot Boxing’s fight of the Month was easy!!  For Golovkin’s next fight, I would love to see Golovkin in a mega-showdown with the winner of the Sergio Martinez/Miguel Cotto fight.

This is definitely a fight the boxing world wants to see so I hope this is the direction that Golovkin’s road will lead to in the future.
