Lamont Peterson put on a great performance in front of his hometown crowd in Washington, DC as he used his good jab and accurate body punching to wear down Dierry Jean.

Peterson started out boxing Jean for the first couple of rounds which led to Jean having some success as Jean was able to land some shots on Peterson. The fight was even in my opinion going into the 5th round, but Peterson changed my mind quickly as Peterson started to step up the pace in the 5th round by coming forward and focusing squarely on Jean’s body and just simply broke down Jean from about the 5th round on.
Jean remained gamed throughout the fight as he let his hands go in hopes of landing something big on Peterson, but in the end, Peterson was too elusive and too skillful for the inexperienced Dierry Jean.
Lamont Peterson was awarded the 12 round unanimous decision victory, thus, retaining his IBF junior welterweight crown and handing Jean the first professional boxing loss of his career.
