Here is Potshot Boxing’s (PSB) Prediction for the upcoming Lucas Matthysse vs. Roberto Ortiz fight!!
Right before Adrien Broner reunites with his hometown at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinatti, Ohio this Saturday night, there is a potential 2014 fight of the year candidate kind of fight in the junior welterweight division that may upstage the Broner homecoming as Lucas “The Machine” Matthysse will square off against undefeated Roberto “Massa” Ortiz.

In Matthysse’s last fight, he ended up in a blood and guts war with John Molina in which both guys hit the canvas twice. Matthysse almost did not survive those early rounds, but his sheer will and determination shined through in the end as he scored an incredible 11th round knockout over John Molina.
Roberto Ortiz is a good junior welterweight fighter who is undefeated with unbelievable power which should set up another blood and guts type of fight for Matthysse. So will Matthysse survive this bout with Ortiz?
Well, both of these fighters have a knockout ratio of 75% or better so who knows who will survive this bout. I know one thing though; I do not believe that this fight will go the distance. Matthysse loves to bring the pressure and so does Ortiz so I expect a combustible explosion to take place when these 2 fighters take center stage at the U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday night.
When the smoke clears in this battle of knockout kings, I expect for Lucas Matthysee to be standing tall and asking for one of the top junior welterweights, who are probably afraid of him by the way, to give him another shot at a junior welterweight title.
Prediction: Matthysse by Knockout
