Lomachenko made Walters say “No Mas!”

What was supposed to have been an epic fight at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada turned into a boxing clinic by Vasyl Lomachenko.  Lomachenko’s “Hi-Tech” boxing style led to Nicholas Walters uttering words that have not been said since the 1980 rematch between ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard and Roberto ‘Hands of Stone” Duran.

Yes, Boxing World, Nicholas Walters said “No Mas” after getting outclassed by Lomachenko. Walters realized that Lomachenko’s superior boxing did not give him a chance to win so he decided to end his own night.

After the 7th round was completed, Walters told his corner and the referee that he was done, “No Mas.”  Vasyl ‘Hi-Tech’ Lomachenko was awarded the 7th round RTD victory.  With the win, Lomachenko retains his WBO junior lightweight title.

Conclusion

Vasyl Lomachenko made a legit world champion quit.  That is super impressive!  Heading into the fight, you could argue that these were the 2 best fighters at junior lightweight, and Lomachenko made Walters look like a total amateur.

After the fight, a lot of names were getting thrown around as to who Lomachenko should fight next.  Names like Manny Pacquiao, Francisco Vargas, and Terence Crawford where the most mentioned after the fight as possible opponents for Lomachenko.

There is only 1 name, however, that I feel Lomachenko needs to fight next before thinking about a big fight in the future.  That fight should be a rematch with “Mr.” Gary Russell.  I seem as though Lomachenko and his camp dance around a possible rematch with Russell, but that would be the best matchup for Lomachenko if he decides to make lightning strike again in Russell’s direction.

Who will Vasyl 'Hi-Tech' Lomachenko fight next?
