Floyd Mayweather, Jr. gets win number 50!

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, Jr. decided to take Conor McGregor out in 10 rounds.  The fight was a little more exciting than expected, but the outcome was definitely expected.  McGregor actually won some of the early rounds as Mayweather was collecting that all-important data to seal McGregor’s doom.

Mayweather became the aggressor in the fight after 4 rounds, backed McGregor up, and start catching McGregor with lead right hands to the head and sneaky body shots.  McGregor clearly started to tire down the stretch which opened the door for Mayweather to go in for the kill in round 10.

In round 10, Mayweather landed power shot after power shot to a wobbly McGregor.  McGregor simply could not get his feet together as Mayweather continued to tattoo him with power shots.

As the fight was about to conclude, Mayweather landed a barrage of power shots on McGregor against the ropes which caused Referee Robert Byrd to step in and stop the fight.  Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, Jr. was awarded the 10th round TKO victory, thus, breaking Rocky Marciano’s professional boxing record of 49-0.

Mayweather now holds the record of 50-0.

Conclusion

There was an epic fight that took place on HBO between Miguel Cotto and Yoshihiro Kamegai that was much better than Mayweather vs. McGregor.  Cotto threw a sofa, a desk, and the kitchen sink at Kamegai, and Kamegai kept coming!

Miguel Cotto earned a tough one-sided shutout over Kamegai, but it was Kamegai’s relentlessness and playing to the crowd that won the night for Boxing.  After the dramatic one-sided beating he gave Kamegai, Cotto is planning to hang up the gloves for good after capturing the vacant WBO junior middleweight title.

As for Conor McGregor, well I guess he will go back to the UFC.  He was clearly outmatched, but I am sure 30 million dollars will help cheer him up.  As for Floyd Mayweather, Jr., the question will be whether or not he will finally ride off into the sunset after breaking Rocky Marciano’s boxing record.

If he does, Mayweather may not go down as TBE as far as “Best Fighter Ever,” but he definitely will go down as “Best Businessman Ever.”

Which fight was better? Mayweather vs. McGregor or Cotto vs. Kamegai?
