Canelo pitched a shutout against Chavez, Jr.

Well Boxing World, we all knew that Canelo Alvarez was the favorite heading into the fight on Saturday night against Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., but I bet no one saw that shutout coming from him. Alvarez caught Chavez, Jr. with so many clean power punches in that fight that it caused Chavez, Jr to just packed it in and not fight.

I am not sure if the catch-weight bothered Chavez, Jr. or what, but he simply did not want to fight.  Canelo Alvarez cruised to a 12th round unanimous decision victory.  After the fight, Canelo officially announced to the boxing world that he will fight Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin on September 16, 2017.
